Texas Instruments
At the heart of Red Embedded Design’s videophone technology lies Texas Instruments’ DSP products. The TMS320DM642 digital signal processor powers the VPHS100, VPHS200 & VPTV100, while the very latest TMS320DM6446 digital media processors are found in the heart of the VPTV200, VPHS200, VPHS300 & VPHS400 range.
TMS320DM644x digital media processors are highly integrated SoCs based on an ARM926 processor and the TMS320C64x+ DSP core. The TMS320DM6446 and TMS320DM6443 processors are ideal for applications such as videophones, automotive infotainment, digital still cameras, streaming media, and IP set-top box.

Opera
Red Embedded Design chose Opera For Devices™ for the VPHS400 range of videophones. Opera 9 for Devices delivers the power of the web to set top boxes, portable media players and other devices. ANT Ltd
Red Embedded Design chose ANT’s Fresco browser to provide the user interface for their VPTV100 videophone. The ANT Fresco browser is compact and fully featured, and enables service operators and OEMs to differentiate products and services with their own branding.

MyJoice AB
Joice is a TV–phone service from Swedish company MyJoice AB which makes it easy for people of all generations to communicate through their television set, aimed especially at individuals who would find a regular phone or computer difficult to handle. The service is based around a customised VPTV400 (the Joicebox) and is distributed around Europe by MyJoice. Red Embedded is MyJoice’s UK distributor for the Joicebox. www.myjoice.com
BT
Our VPHS200 product was marketed and sold by BT – the UK national telecommunications operator - a fruitful partnership for both partners. BT was able to specify the product they required and benefited from continuous support from our software expertise. We worked with BT to implement new features and ensured the product quality met the very high standards required for volume consumer products.
