Red Embedded reduce Operating Costs for MultiChoice
Red Embedded Consulting is providing a value-added, Product Validation Service for a selection of MultiChoice South Africa’s latest set top boxes to significantly cut customer operating costs. Founded in 2003 by a team of engineers highly experienced in developing volume Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) since the dawn of digital TV, Red Embedded provides strategic, design and integration services to clients across a variety of technology sectors. The award-winning, Yorkshire-based company consults on CPE products for some of the world’s largest TV operators including Directv in the US and the UK’s BSkyB.
Red Embedded’s Product Validation Service majorly enhances the reliability and robustness of MultiChoice SA’s digital satellite set top boxes, averting faulty units in the field that generate subsequent engineer call-outs with replacement boxes.
Andrew Stewart, MD for Red Embedded Consulting comments "Increasingly, the complexity of CPE equipment means network operators don't have the available means to validate manufacturers’ claims. Validation activity is often too little, too late, leading to compromise on time or quality. Our service has proven to manage and reduce the risk of this.”
Said Gerdus Van Eeden, CTO of MultiChoice "Having been engaged in this process with Red Embedded the past three years, we’re noticing many of the benefits first-hand. For every new product, we receive a straightforward and pragmatic view from Red Embedded and we’ve already managed to avert a number of issues that would have been costly to address in field."
This service also benefits CPE manufacturers who become involved early on in the product validation process. Detailed specifications, design documentation and test procedures are reviewed and key aspects are independently tested for verification, increasing quality standards whilst enabling a speedier launch of devices onto networks.
Red Embedded are rolling out their Product Validation Service to broadcasters and operators across the world at IBC 2011 on 9-11 September 2011. Arrange a meeting by emailing: consulting@redembedded.com.
