Red Embedded At IBC 2008 in Amsterdam
Friday 12th September, 8am. Main
Red Embedded Design Ltd, the VideoPhone Development and Technical Consulting Company, will be at the IBC in Amsterdam to display their new videophone product designed for the elderly and infirm and to discuss potential new development work. Red Embedded are also delighted to announce the port of their software to TI's new OMAP3 processor. This gives the product even more performance at an even lower cost.
Red Embedded Design Ltd formed in 2003 and specialise in design and development of VideoPhone and Set-Top box products and provide IT engineering, consultancy and technical services. The two most significant developments for the company during the last year were the development of the VPTV400 VideoPhone product and the securing of a steady pipeline of Consulting work from a range of customers which is resulting in substantial growth of the business.
Red Embedded's next generation product, the VPTV400, is a Consumer Ready VideoPhone with a range of features specifically designed for the elderly and infirm living at home. The product delivers communication services through the broadband network and includes features such as picture calling, on button calling, privileged caller facilities and a super simple user interface. It is designed to display the video call image on a standard TV set and the Set Top component provides an RF channel for two way audio and control signals to a tabletop unit placed close to the user. It can be used with a PC client or any SIP enabled device.
Red Embedded would expect to customise this unit to the particular requirements of users or Operators and have it available for market from end 2008.
Said Stuart Griffin, one of the founding Directors of Red Embedded, “This product is designed to fulfill a real need - not just in the UK but worldwide. As our population ages so we need to provide products to enable these people to lead a more fulfilling life at home. We try to minimise the numbers who have to be institutionalised and aim to provide them with a little joy in their lives despite what may be severe disabilities or long term medical conditions.
To arrange a meeting at the Show please come and see the new product at the Texas Instruments booth in the Hall 1 stand BM4 and the OMAP3 demonstration in the Texas Instruments' Suite.
